Media-Contacting or Sealed: When Should I Use Which Design?
The choice of the appropriate spring chamber depends primarily on your medium. We offer two basic designs – both with identical connection options, sealing material and sizes for maximum flexibility.
Version with Wetted Spring Chamber
For neutral and clean media such as water, non-corrosive gases or lubricating oils, the version with a media-contacting spring chamber (without media separation) is suitable.
This variant does not require an additional internal spindle seal, allowing the medium to flow around the spring. As the medium does not attack the mechanical components in these applications, this robust design provides you with a technically proven and particularly cost-effective solution.
Version with Sealed Spring Chamber
The version with a sealed spring chamber (media separation) is ideal for aggressive, corrosive, sticky or contaminated media.
A high-quality spindle seal reliably separates the mechanism from the flow. As the medium cannot penetrate the spring chamber in this way, the spring remains protected against corrosion or sticking. This guarantees consistently precise response pressures even under difficult process conditions.
