Pressure-Actuated Valves – Robust Control for Demanding Media
When solenoid valves reach their physical limits, END-Armaturen’s pressure actuated valves really come into their own. Their design deliberately avoids the use of sensitive electrical components directly on the valve body. As a result, they cope effortlessly with extreme temperatures. They control contaminated, highly viscous and corrosive media reliably. Put your trust in our low-wear valve technology, developed and manufactured in Germany.

Robust Valve Technology for Complex Industrial Processes
A separate control medium – typically compressed air – actuates our externally controlled valves. This consistent separation of the actuator and the flow medium ensures maximum process stability, even in complex industrial applications involving steam or viscous liquids.
The Right Valve for Your Design – A Pressure-Actuated Valve or a Solenoid Valve?
Your medium plays a key role in determining whether to choose a pressure actuated valves or a solenoid valve.
When Should You Choose a Pressure-Actuated Valve?
This design is ideal for viscous, contaminated or hot media, such as steam. The pneumatic actuator operates thermally neutrally. Thanks to generous flow cross-sections, contaminants are handled with ease. This enables you to achieve maximum plant availability when dealing with challenging media.
When Is a Solenoid Valve Sufficient?
Use this technology with clean, liquid or gaseous media. Moderate temperatures are essential for this application. Solenoid valves are compact in design and do not require an external control medium such as compressed air. Discover our directly controlled and servo-controlled solenoid valves.
Types and Differences Between Pressure-Actuated Valves

2/2-Way Pressure-Actuated Valves
Diese Ventile besitzen einen Eingang und einen Ausgang. Sie sperren Mediendurchflüsse in Rohrleitungen zuverlässig und sicher ab.

3/2-Way Pressure-Actuated Valves
Diese Ausführung bietet drei Anschlüsse und zwei Schaltstellungen. Damit realisieren Sie präzise Aufteilfunktionen oder Mischfunktionen.
Closing Against or With the Medium?
The direction of flow of the fluid is crucial to the operation and service life of your system.
Closing Against the Flow of the Medium
The medium pressure acts from below against the valve disc. The valve closes firmly against the direction of flow. This design provides optimum protection against water hammer. We recommend it as standard for all liquid media.
Closing Against the Flow of the Medium
Here, the medium exerts pressure on the valve disc from above. This pressure significantly boosts the closing force of the spring. This enables you to control significantly higher medium pressures with compact actuators.
A tip from our design experts: With liquid media, the ‘medium-actuated’ control type often causes severe pressure surges in the pipework system. You should therefore only specify this design for gaseous media or steam.
Technical Specifications & Design Features
We manufacture valve bodies from robust GG-25 cast iron, brass, red brass or chemically resistant stainless steel. This allows you to select the exact level of resistance required for any environmental conditions.
As standard, we use high-quality PTFE for seat and spindle seals. It offers universal chemical resistance and exceptional temperature resistance. Alternatively, we offer FKM for high temperatures and oil resistance. NBR is ideal for standard oils or compressed air. EPDM copes superbly with hot water and steam.
We primarily manufacture our 2/2-way valves as flow-optimised angle-seated valves. The angled stem arrangement guarantees an excellent Kv value. They significantly reduce pressure loss within the system. For confined spaces, we supply precisely fitted straight-seated valves.
Modular Configuration Options for Your Control Systems
Your system often requires more than just on/off functions. Enhance our pressure-actuated valves with precisely tailored control options. This allows you to integrate each valve seamlessly into your process control system.
Certified Explosion Protection
Ensure your systems are reliably protected in critical areas. On request, we can supply our valves with ATEX certification. This guarantees you absolute safety in flammable environments.
Transparent Process Monitoring
Monitor valve statuses accurately in real time. Choose between optical position indicators and electromechanical signalling systems. Our bridges for proximity switches also allow for highly flexible sensor integration.
Precise Flow Control
Control flow rates precisely with our 2/2-way valves. The optional stroke limiter allows for mechanical fine-tuning of the flow rate. This enables you to harmonise the flow of the medium and measurably optimise system performance.
Combined Security Systems
Confidently combine the most demanding requirements in a single valve. We manufacture models with ATEX certification and an integrated optical position indicator. This allows you to combine visual process feedback with the strictest explosion protection guidelines.
