Reliable Non-Return (Check) Valves for Safe Plant Operation

Controlled flow of fluids forms the reliable foundation of industrial plants. Our non-return valves reliably safeguard your pipework systems by directing the flow precisely in a defined direction. They prevent suction lines from running dry and protect your pumps from running dry. They also protect sensitive system components from critical pressure surges. You can rely on low-wear designs and long-lasting sealing performance for maximum operational reliability in your process.

We’d be happy to assist you in selecting the perfect valve sizing for your industrial application. Please speak directly to our technical department.

Automatic Flow Control Through Precision Mechanics

Non-return valves operate fully automatically and independently, without the need for an external power source. The pressure of the fluid reliably opens the shut-off element inside the body. As soon as the flow stops or the direction of flow reverses, the closing element – supported by its own weight or an integrated spring – immediately presses against the valve seat. This effectively prevents the medium from flowing back and keeps pumping systems ready for operation at all times. In this way, you can reliably protect condensate lines in process engineering against critical pressure surges.

Lift Check Valves, Swing Check Valves, Non-Return Ball Valves or Foot Valves – How they Work and System Protection

The closing mechanism has a direct influence on pressure loss and on the valve’s suitability for specific media.

Lift Check Valves

A spring-loaded mechanism ensures that the valve closes quickly and securely. The medium is slightly diverted within the body, which is why this design is primarily used for smaller nominal diameters. The valves can be installed with great flexibility in virtually any orientation.

Swing Check Valves

A pivoting flap opens up the flow path almost completely, resulting in minimal pressure losses. It is the first choice for larger pipe diameters and where unimpeded flow is required.

Non-Return Ball Valves

In this variant, a freely moving ball serves as a robust shut-off element. Thanks to its dirt-resistant and non-clogging design, it is the perfect solution for sewage, sludge or general water conveyance systems.

Foot Valve

This special type is always installed at the lowest point of a suction pipe. This prevents the pipe from running dry and enables the pump system to restart immediately and without disruption.

Technical Specifications & Design Features

Choose from brass, grey cast iron GG-25, ductile cast iron GGG-40.3, robust cast steel GSC/steel, lightweight plastic or durable stainless steel.

Tailored to your process requirements, we fit the valves with high-performance seals made from NBR, EPDM, PTFE or FKM. For extremely harsh operating conditions, we also offer metal sealing variants.

We manufacture valves in both compact and large nominal sizes, ranging from 1/8 inch to 4 inches and from DN15 to DN400. Integration is achieved flexibly via internal or external threads (DIN, ISO, NPT), weld-on ends (DIN 3239, ISO 4200, DIN EN 10357 A) or flanges in accordance with EN or ANSI standards.
