Flow-Optimised Globe Valves and Gate Valves

In the process industry, plant engineering and building services, the throttling and tight shut-off of pipework are essential for continuous plant operation. Our shut-off valves are key components in your system circuit. At the same time, the valves minimise pressure drops and provide a permanent seal even under harsh industrial conditions. You can rely on high manufacturing standards and proven industrial quality. We’d be happy to assist you in selecting the perfect valve sizing for your industrial application. Our Range of Professional Shut-Off Valves

We provide tailor-made solutions for your specific plant engineering requirements. Choose between flow-optimised angle-seat valves for minimised pressure losses, classic globe valves for reliable shut-off tasks and high-precision needle valves for exact, fine metering. In addition, gate valves ensure completely unobstructed flow, whilst robust drain valves guarantee controlled media extraction in your plant.

Gate Valve or Globe Valve: A Comparison of Their Design Differences

Pipework design requires the precisely correct valve to isolate fluid flows. Manual types use a handwheel to rotate the drive spindle. Nevertheless, they differ fundamentally in their design.

Gate ValveGate Valve

Gate Valves

A wedge-shaped or plate-shaped closing element moves across the pipe cross-section, perpendicular to the direction of flow. When open, the gate valve allows the full cross-section to be used. The medium flows straight through, which keeps flow resistance to a minimum. Use gate valves purely as on/off valves for systems where unimpeded flow is essential.

Globe ValveGlobe Valve

Globe Valves

The closing element presses against the valve seat parallel to the direction of flow. This causes the valve to reliably divert the medium within the body. Valves close extremely tightly and exhibit very low wear. They are ideal for precise throttling and regulating flow rates. Furthermore, they have shorter stroke lengths and close rapidly. They are ideal for frequent operation and the most stringent sealing requirements.

Angle Seat Valve or Straight-Seat Valve: How to Make the Best Choice for Your System

The fluid dynamics requirements within your system are a key factor in determining the appropriate design.

Angle Seat ValveAngle Seat Valve

Angle Seat Valves

The angled position of the valve seat relative to the direction of flow significantly reduces flow resistance. This results in a much lower pressure drop compared to conventional straight-seat valves. Use this design for systems with high flow rates and frequent cycling.

Straight Seat ValveStraight Seat Valve

Straight Seat Valves

In straight seat valves, also known as globe valves, the stem is pressed onto the seat parallel to the flow. The valve closes extremely tightly, wears slowly and is well suited to regulation. They impress with their robust construction and straightforward operation.

Technical Specifications & Design Features

Wählen Sie je nach Anforderung zwischen Messing, Edelstahl oder Grauguss GG-25. Wir bieten zudem Sphäroguss GGG-40.3 oder robusten Stahlguss GSC/Stahl an.

Choose between brass, stainless steel or grey cast iron GG-25, depending on your requirements. We also offer ductile cast iron GGG-40.3 or robust cast steel GSC/steel.

Tailored to your process medium, we use high-performance soft seals made from PTFE, EPDM or NBR. For extreme temperatures, use our metal sealing systems.

We manufacture nominal sizes from 1/8 inch to 4 inches. These include 1/2-inch NPT to 2-inch NPT as well as DN15 to DN600. Integration is achieved via internal or external threads in accordance with DIN, ISO or NPT. We offer weld-on ends in accordance with DIN 3239, ISO 4200 or DIN EN 10357 A. In addition, we supply standardised flanges in accordance with EN or ANSI.

Our valve bodies minimise turbulence and effectively reduce pressure losses in the system.

Precisely guided stems and high-quality seals ensure a permanent external seal. This remains true even under demanding thermal or mechanical cyclic loads.
